Matthew 22:37-38
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind.
This is the great and first commandment.”
The Mission
Saint Mary's is a parish with one mission: Reaching Out. That starts the moment you walk through our doors. We're a church family small enough to know your name and big-hearted enough to share God's love across the Irmo, Harbison, and Lake Murray communities. Our worship is rooted in the beauty of the Episcopal liturgical tradition: ancient words, real bread and wine, and room for honest faith. Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey, there's a place for you here. Join us Sundays at 9:30 AM.
How we worship
Worship is the heart of Saint Mary's. Each Sunday we gather around word and sacrament, praying words that Christians have prayed for centuries, shaped by the Book of Common Prayer. Our worship is rich without being rigid: scripture, music, sacred silence, and Holy Communion every week, all expressing what our tradition calls "the beauty of holiness."
If you grew up Catholic, much will feel familiar. If you grew up Protestant, much will too. If you didn't grow up in church at all, you'll find everything you need in the bulletin, and a neighbor in the pew glad to help you follow along.
At Saint Mary's, all baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion at the Lord's table, whatever your denomination. And anyone may come forward for a blessing; simply cross your arms over your chest at the rail, and the priest will know. However God has led you here, you are welcome.
